This double-acting scroll for a chemical screw pump was machined from a Ferralium® 255 forging, with every wetted part of the pump also made in Ferralium® 255 for its broad corrosion resistance.
This double-acting scroll is part of a screw pump used to handle a variety of chemicals. It was machined from a forging in Ferralium® 255, and all parts of the pump in contact with the fluid were also made in Ferralium® 255.
Equipment used in petrochemical plant and tankers must resist attack from a wide range of corrosive fluids. Ferralium® 255 is increasingly used for this duty because it offers better corrosion resistance across a wider range of products than ordinary stainless steel.
