Revival Cycles built the lattice frame of its J63 'café racer' from scratch in Ferralium® 255 tube, using the alloy's high strength and corrosion resistance to achieve a distinctive look within a finite budget.

The project
Revival Cycles is a custom bike builder specialising in bespoke projects for individual clients. Its two founding partners - a mechanical engineer and an artistic designer - combine the latest materials and processes into uniquely styled creations.
The client for the J63 had a very specific look in mind and a finite budget, so the starting point was a neglected 1997 Ducati 900SS Sport that donated its engine, gearbox and other mechanicals. Much of the J63's appearance comes from the original lattice frame, fabricated in Ferralium® 255 tube.
Why Ferralium® 255
Ferralium® 255 offers several benefits over alternative materials, including higher strength than standard stainless steels - up to twice the yield strength - and enhanced corrosion resistance, particularly in aggressive environments. It is an unusual application for a corrosion-resistant alloy of this kind, but the result speaks for itself.
