Ferralium® 255 plate delivers excellent performance in phosphoric acid processes, with inherent corrosion resistance rivalling far more expensive alloys such as the nickel-based Alloy 904L, and it is particularly strong against erosion corrosion.
The image shows a large mixer fabricated from Ferralium® 255 for the process section of a fertiliser production facility. Mixing phosphoric acid and rock slurries in large volumes places considerable strain on both the parts and the material selection.
