These delivery cover and section cover castings for seawater circulating pumps were cast in Ferralium® 255 for Weir Pumps, Ltd, of Alloa, Scotland, who designed the pumps and will supply the finished units to their Italian customer for a power station in Italy.
Power stations need vast supplies of water for cooling, which is why they sit on coasts and rivers. The castings weigh approximately 1300lb each, with an excellent "as cast" finish. Weir Pumps Ltd are specialists in this class of product, as Langley are in casting intricate shapes in special alloys.
