Ferralium® 255 shafts, approximately 3½" diameter by 22ft long, have been fitted to fast patrol boats in service since 1976. Several years into service they were examined in detail and showed no sign of general corrosion, crevice corrosion or pitting.
Ferralium® 255 combines excellent corrosion resistance with increased strength, so it can be used in smaller sections and for longer periods than more standard stainless steels.
