CS39 - Ferralium 255-SD50 - Teledyne Benthos R2K

The Teledyne Benthos R2K acoustic release is housed in Ferralium® 255-SD50, chosen to give rugged protection to sensitive internal components and long life from its excellent corrosion resistance in seawater.

Teledyne Benthos are a group of companies in the United States specialising in acoustic communication products, positioning solutions, remotely operated vehicles, autonomous underwater vehicles, and profiling floats that work independently or as networked undersea systems. They have operated for more than 50 years, and their FAA black box 'pingers' have been used to locate airline wreckage and maritime cargo.

Acoustic releases are a safe, reliable means of deploying and recovering critical subsea instrumentation. A secure acoustic command is sent from the topside unit to release up to 25 tons of in-line instrumentation to the surface for recovery. Teledyne Benthos releases operate from a universal topside unit that provides access to a wide range of system capabilities and diagnostics to ensure ease of operation and successful recovery.

The R2K Acoustic Transponding Release is a full-function acoustic release for use in depths to 2000 meters and loads up to 2000 kg.
