Fretting corrosion cannot be removed. It typically strips away a significant proportion of the metal surface, so the lost material can only be replaced, not restored. It is better to prevent it at source.
Replacing lost material
Where fretting has already occurred, options include building the missing material back up by weld repair, increasing the size of one component to fit, or replacing one or both components. Seals, gaskets or bearings between the surfaces of rotating components can also be considered.
Preventing it at source
Prevention is the better route. Rotating parts that are out of balance cause mechanical impact at the interface, or vibrations that move contacting surfaces against each other. Removing the source of vibration is ideal; damping it may be effective.
Surfaces designed to move against each other can be coated to improve hardness or lubricity. Pairing the metals carefully also reduces fretting, as with bearings and bushes, where a relatively hard, strong metal is combined with a softer, less strong one.
