UNS S32760 is a super duplex stainless steel, also known as Zeron 100®, available as solid bar, plate, pipe, fittings, forgings and castings. For cast components the nearest equivalent specifications are ASTM A890, ASTM A995 and ASME SA351/995 grade CD3MWCuN or 6A - also written as J93380 or 25Cr-7Ni-Mo-N.
We carry a comprehensive stock of S32760 (1.4501, F55) as solid bar up to 16" diameter and plate up to 2½" thickness. Machining components from solid bar or plate reduces the risk of rejection, because wrought product is far less likely to contain internal defects. On castings these defects often become apparent only after machining, so considerable time and expense can be lost. Castings still have their place - for more complex geometries, larger components or longer production runs - but the mechanical properties of a wrought (rolled or forged) product are significantly better than those of a cast one.
