ASTM A351 CG6MMn is the nearest cast equivalent to the wrought austenitic stainless steel UNS S20910.
It is also designated as J93790 or XM-19, and known by the tradename Nitronic® 50.
Wrought equivalent from stock
Our wrought equivalent is Fermonic® 50 (UNS S20910, 1.3964, XM-19), carried as solid bar up to 10" in diameter. It is available in two conditions: solution annealed, or the higher-strength hot-rolled condition.
Machining components from solid bar or plate reduces the risk of rejection, because the wrought product form is much less likely to contain internal defects. On castings, such defects often become apparent only after machining, so considerable time and expense can be lost. Castings can still be an effective way to produce complex geometries or to reduce cost on larger components and longer production runs, but the mechanical properties of a wrought product (rolled or forged) are significantly better than those of a cast one.
