ASTM A890 CE3Mn, or Grade 5A, is the nearest cast equivalent to the wrought super duplex stainless steel UNS S32750.

Related: Duplex, Super Duplex

It is also designated as ASTM A995 and ASME SA351/995 grade CE3Mn, or 5A, and written as J93404 or 25Cr-7Ni-Mo-N.

We no longer produce castings in-house, but we can help our customers source them and apply our in-house testing and inspection facilities as required.

Wrought S32750 from stock

We carry a comprehensive stock of UNS S32750 (SAF2507, 1.4410, F53) as solid bar up to 16" in diameter and plate up to 3" thickness.

Machining components from solid bar or plate reduces the risk of rejection, because the wrought product form is much less likely to contain internal defects. On castings, such defects often become apparent only after machining, so considerable time and expense can be lost. Castings can still be an effective way to produce complex geometries or to reduce cost on larger components and longer production runs, but the mechanical properties of a wrought product (rolled or forged) are significantly better than those of a cast one.

Key features of UNS S32750

  • Superb resistance to stress corrosion cracking (SCC) in chloride-bearing environments
  • Excellent resistance to crevice corrosion and pitting
  • High resistance to general corrosion
  • Good weldability
  • Physical properties that offer design advantages
  • High resistance to erosion corrosion and corrosion fatigue
  • Very high mechanical strength
