Bronzes are copper-based alloys, typically with additions of tin, aluminium or silicon. The most traditional bronze is a simple alloy of copper and tin.

There are also families of manganese bronzes, phosphor bronzes, nickel aluminium bronzes (NAB) and aluminium bronzes, each featuring the named metal as the main alloying addition to copper.

Our range of copper-nickel alloys, such as Hiduron® 130 (DTD900/4805, 2.1504) and Hiduron® 191 (DEFSTAN 02-835, NES 835), is often referred to as bronzes, although here the main addition to copper is nickel.
