Super duplex 32750 (UNS S32750) offers corrosion resistance superior to austenitic and standard duplex stainless steels in almost all corrosive media. Higher chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen contents give it a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) of >40.
It combines the desirable features of austenitic and ferritic grades and is around twice as strong as austenitic or ferritic stainless steels. By avoiding high nickel additions, it remains a cost-effective option for demanding applications.
Across the super duplex family, copper additions can further improve resistance to acids and help inhibit pitting corrosion.
About Langley Alloys
Founded in 1938 and growing steadily through the Second World War, we take pride in our record of alloy development. Our copper-bearing Hidurel® 5 alloy was used in the engines of the Spitfire, and we have supplied specialist materials to the chemical, aerospace and defence industries ever since. More recently we opened a site in the United States, giving us the reach to support customers wherever they are.
