This water pump rotor is made in Hiduron® 130 for its excellent resistance to electrolytic corrosion and to wear when sliding in contact with carbon.
The use of water may seem incongruous in cigarette manufacture, but it is nevertheless a fact. This rotor, used in one of the processes, is offset into the pump body and carries a carbon slide in the radial slot, maintaining a seal with the walls of the pump liner by centrifugal action.
Hiduron® 130 (DIN 2.1504, DTD900/4805, Hidurax Special) has been used very successfully as the rotor material over a number of years.
