The stator end plate in a glandless boiler feed pump is cast in Hiduron® 130 (DIN 2.1504, DTD900/4805, Hidurax Special) bronze because the material combines high strength, good corrosion resistance and low magnetic permeability.
Glandless pumps used for boiler feed water circulation in many power stations have an integral squirrel cage electric motor that operates while totally submerged in water. The laminations in the stator are held in position by stator end plates.
