What does Hiduron® mean?

Hiduron is a trademark belonging to Langley Alloys Ltd. It applies to a family of copper-nickel alloys (also known as cupronickels).

Hiduron 130 (DTD900/4805, 2.1504) is our highest strength copper alloy. It was originally developed for naval applications in the 1940s. It has been subsequently refined in the 80 years since. Today it is widely used in a variety of marine and subsea applications, such as connectors, shafts and fasteners. Hiduron 191 (DEFSTAN 02-835, NES835) was subsequently developed to achieve greater levels of impact resistance.
