Pump impellers handling water - including contaminated water and seawater - need corrosion resistance and resistance to erosion and cavitation as well as mechanical strength. Hiduron® 130 bronze has proved, through many years of pump service, to have an ideal combination of these properties.
Impellers in centrifugal and rotary pumps need sound mechanical strength, resistance to corrosion by the fluid pumped, and resistance to the erosion and cavitation that occur to varying degrees depending on pump design and operating conditions.
For pumps handling all kinds of water, including contaminated water and seawater, Hiduron® 130 (DIN 2.1504, DTD 900/4805, Hidurax Special) has proved highly satisfactory. Alongside high strength and ready machinability, it offers excellent corrosion resistance and outstanding resistance to cavitation and erosion.
While its most widespread pump application is handling seawater and contaminated water, Hiduron® 130 also resists sulphuric acid and many other dilute chemical solutions, and has given excellent service in handling plant effluent.
