Both S31803 and S32760 are duplex stainless steels with a balanced austenitic-ferritic microstructure, but S32760 is more highly alloyed. S31803 has a chromium content of 22%, while S32760 is a super duplex grade at 25% chromium, giving it roughly twice the strength and appreciably higher corrosion resistance.
Duplex grades combine properties from both phases: the corrosion resistance and low-temperature toughness associated with austenitic grades, and the stress corrosion cracking resistance associated with ferritic grades. That mix delivers high strength and excellent corrosion resistance while remaining cost-effective.
