S32520 is the Unified Numbering System (UNS) designation for a specific super duplex stainless steel. It is not widely stocked, and the closest readily available grade is Ferralium® 255.
What is the UNS system?
The UNS system was created by a group of trade bodies working together in the 1970s to reduce confusion from the same alloy being called different things, or different alloys sharing a name. Each metal is indicated by a letter followed by five numbers, where the letter denotes the family. In S32520, the S is for stainless steels.
Chemical makeup of S32520
UNS S32520 is included within the ASTM standards A182 (forged fittings), A240 (plate), A789 (tubing) and A790 (pipe), where it is designated grade F59. The closest grade to it is Ferralium® 255 (UNS S32550, DIN 1.4507, F61). A comparison of the standard captions for F59 (S32520) and F61 (S32550) is shown below.

The chemical composition of S32520 can be met by that of Ferralium® 255. Mechanical properties vary by product form.
We carry an extensive stock of Ferralium® 255, with bar up to 16" (406.4mm) diameter, plate up to 3" (76.2mm) thickness, and a range of pipes and fittings available ex-stock from our UK and USA warehouses.
