We hold a comprehensive stock of nickel alloys at our UK site, having invested £1.5M in additional stock. We now supply Alloy 625, 725, 825 and 925, complementing Alloy K500, a mainstay of our range for many years, and Alloy 718 (API6A). Product datasheets are available, summarising the key properties of each alloy.

The latest developments

This investment is the latest stage of development at Langley Alloys. Other recent investment includes £250k on new Kasto saws, running the carbide blades needed to process these higher-strength nickel alloys, together with additional racking and new colleagues in the Sales and Operations teams. Having supplied several of these alloys selectively to existing customers, the extra stock now gives us a more complete range of sizes. This lets us respond competitively to enquiries, including those for Alloy 725 and 925, which are much less commonly stocked and harder to source.

Nickel alloys offer enhanced corrosion resistance, toughness, strength at high and low temperatures, and useful magnetic, thermal and electronic properties. Because of their higher nickel content compared with stainless steels, they can be appreciably more expensive, but they suit more demanding applications from gas turbines to chemical plants and oil and gas components.

Together with our range of super duplex stainless steels, including Ferralium® 255-SD50, and our partnership with Alleima as their preferred distribution partner for duplex stainless steels (Sanmac 2205), this investment gives Langley Alloys one of the most complete ranges of alloys in stock for demanding applications in oil and gas extraction, chemical processing, energy generation, and pumps, valves and fasteners.
