Alleima SAF2507 is a super duplex stainless steel with high chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen, giving it excellent pitting and crevice corrosion resistance, with a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) greater than 42. It suits applications in highly corrosive conditions.

Properties and applications
As a super duplex stainless steel, SAF2507 is appreciably higher in strength than most austenitic and duplex stainless steels. It cannot be easily hardened by heat treatment, but it can be strengthened by cold working. This combination of strength and corrosion resistance makes it well suited to pulp and paper production, seawater cooling, geothermal wells and more.
