Electrode holders are produced in Hidurel® 5 (UNS C64711, DIN 2.0855, DTD 498), a high-strength alloy that combines the thermal and electrical conductivity needed for current-carrying parts.
The picture shows a small selection of standard Hidurel® 5 resistance welding electrodes and holders on display at the Stockholm technical fair. A similar panel showing some of the special tips made to customers' requirements was also on display.
Alongside electrode holders, Hidurel® 5 is used in the manufacture of flash welding dies and other current-carrying parts where a high-strength alloy is required with the requisite thermal and electrical conductivity.
