2. What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal data we collect when you use this website or contact us, how and why we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have. It does not cover third-party websites we link to, which have their own policies.

3. The personal data we collect

Information you give us directly, for example when you:

  • submit an enquiry or request a quote - your name, company, email address, telephone number, the grades, forms and sizes you are enquiring about, and any drawing or document you choose to attach;
  • subscribe to our email updates;
  • contact us by email, telephone or through the website.

Information we collect automatically when you visit, including your IP address, device and browser type, the pages you view and how you reached the site, collected through cookies and analytics (see section 5). We do not intentionally collect special category data (such as health or ethnicity) through this website, and we ask that you do not send such information to us.

4. How we use your data, and our lawful bases

  • To respond to your enquiries and prepare quotations - in our legitimate interests in answering prospective and existing customers, and to take steps at your request before entering a contract.
  • To supply products and manage our relationship with you - to perform our contract with you or your organisation.
  • To send you marketing about products and services similar to those you have enquired about or bought - on the basis of your consent, or our legitimate interest under the "soft opt-in" for existing customers. You can opt out at any time.
  • To understand and improve how the site is used - with your consent for non-essential analytics cookies.
  • To meet our legal and regulatory obligations - where we are required to.

5. Cookies and analytics

Our site uses cookies. Essential cookies keep the site working. Analytics cookies (Google Analytics 4 and HubSpot) help us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it, and are only set after you accept them. A cookie banner appears on your first visit and lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies; you can change your choice at any time using "Cookie settings" in the footer. 6. Who we share your data with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with:

  • service providers who process data on our behalf under contract, which currently include HubSpot, Inc. (our CRM, which stores enquiry and newsletter data), Google (Google Analytics), Krystal (krystal.io, our website hosting), and Microsoft (Microsoft 365, our email);
  • professional advisers, and authorities where we are legally required to disclose;
  • other companies in the Langley Alloys group where necessary to fulfil your enquiry or order [confirm].

Each processor is only permitted to use your data on our instructions and to keep it secure.

7. International transfers

Some of our providers, and our own US operation, are based outside the UK, including in the United States. Where your data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on an appropriate safeguard such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement (or the Addendum to the EU standard contractual clauses).
