This impeller is for marine service and is cast in Hiduron 130 (DIN 2.1504, DTD900/4805, Hidurax Special), an alloy from the range of Langley bronzes, having particularly good corrosion resistance to sea water, amongst other good physical and mechanical properties. This casting weighs some 2500lbs and is a further example of the excellence of the Langley specialised casting technique for impellers which can be supplied from 5lb in weight upwards.
