What is ASTM A473?

ASTM is the American Society for Testing and Materials, and A473 is the ‘Standard Specification for Stainless Steel Forgings’. This general specification for supply defines the composition and mechanical property requirements for a wide range of stainless steel forgings for general use, plus low- and high-temperature service. It also includes basic details for sampling and certification requirements, product marking and grain size requirements.
