Currently, we do not offer trepanning from our in-house deep hole borer, although it can be arranged through our network of subcontractors. The potential benefit of trepanning over boring is that the central core is retained as a smaller diameter solid bar rather than removed as swarf. However, as the properties of this central core may be different from the published test results then it may require further heat treatment and re-testing.
