This double-acting scroll is part of a screw pump used in handling a variety of chemicals and was machined from a forging in FERRALIUM 255. All parts of the pump in contact with the fluid were also made with FERRALIUM 255.
Because equipment used in petrol chemicals plant and tankers must resist attack from a wide range of corrosive fluids, FERRALIUM 255 is being increasingly used since it has a better corrosion resistance to a wider range of products than ordinary stainless steel.
