CS108 – Ferralium 255 – Pump Shafts

Description:

Surrounded by vast expanses of sea, there is no shortage of water for North Sea Oil Platforms should the need arise to quench fires, which are obviously an ever-present risk.

Any firefighting system on these platforms must however be resistant to the corrosive effects of sea water and remain reliable over long periods. FERRALIUM 255 super duplex stainless steel, with its unique combination of high mechanical strength and outstanding corrosion resistance to sea water, has been selected for many critical applications and particularly suitable for high stressed components such as pump shafts.

These machined FERRALIUM 255 (UNS S32550, Alloy 255, DIN 1.4507, ASTM F61) pump shafts are 5ft long x 2-inch diameter and have screwed muff coupling for SPP Multi-stage vertical turbine well pumped used for firefighting service on a North Sea Oil Platform.
