MAAG-Zahnrader A.G., of Zurich manufacture stainless steel gear pumps for the Chemical Industry under the trade name of ‘Therminox’ and ‘Cinox’. They are designed for fluid displacement to and from vacuums and their uniform discharge rates permit their use as pure displacement pumps, pressure generating pumps or dosing pumps. The range covers capacities at 0 bar of from 1.28 to 1342 cm3/rpm at operating temperatures from -30oC to 320oC.
Where high strength, hardness and wear resistance are important the gears are produced from rolled bar in FERRALIUM 255 (UNS S32550, Alloy 255, DIN 1.4507, ASTM F61) super duplex stainless steel, the overall field of application being further extended by the outstanding corrosion resistance of this material. The pumps are now capable of operating for longer periods and in critical corrosive environments in which conventional stainless steels would be unsuitable.
