FERRALIUM 255 is frequently an economic choice in view of the long service life it provides compared with more expensive high nickel steels or nickel-based alloys. This 18” elbow in FERRALIUM 255 is a component in an axial flow pump for a forced circulation evaporator used in the production of phosphoric acid of 50% concentration at a temperature of 80oC.
The complete elbow is fabricated from separate castings consisting of two elbow halves, motor brackets and mounting feet. This technique of manufacture is made possible by the excellent weldability of FERRALIUM 255. It results in a much higher and much more consistent quality with consequent improved service life.
