Tensile testing

Tensile Testing

Tensile tests provide the headline mechanical properties for a metal such as its yield and ultimate tensile strength, elongation and reduction in area. As standard, the ASTM A370 testing protocol is undertaken at room temperature. However, end user specifications can request them to be undertaken at elevated temperatures, better reflecting the operating conditions of their products. Another common request is to sample and test metals at different locations, such as the centre-line of a forged bar rather than the standard mid-radius T/4 location.

Langley Alloys can effectively manage the sampling and testing process, giving you a quick turnaround. In addition, we will manage product batches to limit testing costs and co-ordinate ongoing supply through call-off arrangements.
