TP033 – The Development of an Ultra-high Strength Cupronickel Alloy for Offshore Use

Description:

This paper summarises the testing of Hiduron 220 to hydrogen embrittlement fracture, by subjecting samples to static loading at known percentages of 0.2% proof stress, in the presence of hydrogen sulphide. Hiduron 220 was shown to be significantly less sensitive to this phenomenon than other alloys used for similar marine fastener applications.
