What is the difference between Alloy 825 and Alloy 925?

Alloy 825 (Incoloy 825, UNS N08825, 2.4858) and Alloy 925 (Incoloy 925, UNS N09925) are nearly identical in composition, and therefore provide very similar corrosion resistance and physical properties.

However, Alloy 925 provides significantly higher levels of strength as it benefits from precipitation strengthening. Small additions are made to its composition. The additions allow the formation of microscopic precipitates when the alloy is subjected to an extended heat treatment process. These fine precipitates increase the yield strength by up to 4x.
