CS43 – Hiduron 130 – Subsea Connectors

Description:

The Hiduron 130 parts presented are proof machined components produced for a leading Oil & Gas ‘Major’ operating in the Brazilian field.

Hiduron 130 blanks were supplied, 6″ (152.4mm) in diameter, which Vama Industrial have transformed into semi-finished parts ahead of final machining and assembly.

Vama Industrial began operations in September 1988 providing small machining services. Today they are focused on the area of tooling and technical machining. Since 1995, the company has invested in specialised machinery and measuring equipment, beginning to perform technical machining of high precision parts for the oil and gas industry – milling parts up to 15 tons. They operate from a purpose-built facility of 3,5000m², with more than 100 employees and 18,000hrs of monthly machining time to support the largest of projects.

Hiduron 130 has been selected for its unique combination of properties:

  • highest strength copper alloys available (apart from CuBe), comparable with 22%Cr stainless steels
  • excellent galling and wear resistance, ideal for connectors which may operate for extended periods before disconnection is required
  • highly resistant to marine biofouling
  • ease of machining
  • low magnetic permeability

Therefore it continues to be specified by leading manufacturers for demanding applications such as this.
