Langley Alloys have published an introductory guide to the family of duplex and super duplex stainless steel alloys in order to share their unique properties. You can learn more about their development, composition, properties and fabrication by downloading the guide below.
Langley Alloys are the originator of super duplex stainless steels, inventing the very first grade Ferralium 255 more than 50 years ago. This family of alloys provide high levels of yield strength and good levels of impact strength, with excellent levels of corrosion resistance in a wide variety of mediums. Therefore, it is no surprise that they are so widely-used when a cost-effective solution to a challenging environment and application is required.

Langley Alloys – Introduction to Super Duplex Stainless Steels
Duplex and super duplex stainless steels can be confidently specified for applications between -50degC and +250degC and are resistant to stress corrosion cracking. They can be readily machined, fabricated and welded with the correct tooling and procedures, and ultimately offer unbeatable levels of cost competitiveness versus more expensive alloys.
As the distribution partner of Sandvik, Langley Alloys carries the most complete stock of duplex and super duplex stainless steels, from 5/8″ (15.9mm) to 16″ (406.4mm) diameter in all the popular grades. We also stock these grades in plate from our Portland, USA warehouse as well as pipes, flanges and fittings.
